La prima Vera donna

2006 · Oil on canvas, 80 x 80 cm (31.5 x 31.5 in)

The surface is painted in parallel waves running from black through red to pale pink, and the canvas is hung as a diamond, from one corner. Two broken metal chains are fixed onto the painting, one on each side. The Italian title is a pun: run together it reads «primavera» (spring), split apart «the first true woman».

Note: Square canvas hung as a diamond, with two applied metal chains.
